By Cargo-Ship, (again) from Italy/Genova over the Atlantic Sea to Panama/Colon. (Stopovers in the Caribbean Sea in Pointe-à-Pitre/Guadeloupe, Fort-de-France/Martinique, Rio Haina/Dominican Republic, Cartagena/Columbia.) My Ship didn't pass the Panama-Canal, so I went by bus to Panama City, then by plane to Bocas del Torro. From there, by 'bush-boat' and busses to Cauhita/Costa Rica. Then by bus trough Costa-Rica to the 'hidden' border of Nicaragua. Bordercossing by riverboat, then the ferry to Isla Omepete. Back to San Jose by land on the Pacific Coast for taking the plane to Basilea/Switzerland via Madrid/Spain. Duration: 3 moths.

By motorbike, always on the coastline as far south as possible: France and Spain on the mediterrian coast to Gibraltar, then by ferry to Tanger/Morocco. On the Atlantic Coast trough Morocco (Rabat, Casa Blanca, Safi, Agadir). Then furher on trough the Westsahara to Dakhla, border crossing to Nouadhibou/Mauretania. From there to Nouakchott (*before* the road was built!). Border crossing to Senegal at the barrage of the River Senegal. Then Saint Louis, Dakar, and down to Banjul/Gambia. No way to find a Cargo-Ship to bring me an my bike back home to Europe, so I went back to Dakar to find a (Cargo-)Plane back to Frankfurt/Germany. 'Alte, fette Tante Berta' is home again and still alive! Duration: 6 months.

As far away as possible: With a 'Around-the-World'-Ticket and a stopover in Los Angeles to Maui, then Hawaii/Big Island. Further to Rarotonga and Aitutaki/Cook Islands. Then Auckland/New Zealand. Exploring the whole Nord- and the South-Island by an old, red Mini. (Is it love?). On the back flight, chilling in Independent Samoa, this is paradise! Duration: 6 months.
